Daddy Yankee and his wife Mireddys González have split after nearly 30 years of marriage.
On Monday, Dec. 2, the Puerto Rican rapper (born Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez) shared a statement on his Instagram Stories, confirming he and González, both 47, had called it quits after tying the knot in March 1995.
“With a heart full of respect and honesty, I want to share some important news about my personal life,” a message translated from Spanish read.
The “Dura” singer wrote of his high school sweetheart, “After more than two decades of marriage and after many months of trying to save my marriage, which my wife and I share, today my lawyers responded to the divorce petition received from Mireddys.”
