A four-year-old girl named Saglana Salchak from the Tuva region in Siberia became a hero after walking five miles through freezing temperatures to get help for her sick grandmother.
Her grandmother had fallen ill, and when Saglana found her unresponsive, she decided to go for help, even though she was far from any village.
Despite the harsh conditions, including deep snow and the threat of wolves, Saglana bravely made the journey alone.
After several hours, she reached the nearest house, and help was called. Sadly, her grandmother had passed away from a heart attack. Although Saglana was cold and hungry, she was not afraid and quickly recovered after a hospital visit.
Her story was widely praised, but her mother, Eleonora, is facing a criminal investigation for allegedly leaving her child in peril, as the grandparents didn’t have proper communication or safety measures in place.
The case has sparked concern about the lack of infrastructure in remote areas of Tuva, where even basic communication is limited.
