Jake Paul issues bombshell challenge to Conor McGregor after UFC icon deletes controversial tweet about Mike Tyson fight

Paul is already plotting his next move…

Jake Paul defeated Mike Tyson by unanimous decision in Arlington, Texas, last night – but he is already plotting his next move.

Paul, 27, was seemingly unfazed by Tyson, 58, as he eased to a convincing points decision victory at the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium.

And now, not even 24 hours after the bout he has expressed his desire to fight former UFC champion Conor McGregor, who already hit the headlines earlier today after posting a distasteful tweet before it was swiftly deleted.

The Irishman has not fought in the UFC since his loss at the hands of Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

You have to go back even further to August 2017 for the last time he fought in a boxing ring – against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

“Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170lbs,” Paul wrote on X.

“That’s never happening. But let’s run it in MMA. No weight class. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t.”

There has been a feud between Paul and McGregor for some time with the Crumlin-born man giving his take on the American during a live stream in the summer of 2024, according to the US Express.

“I hope Mike [Tyson] rattles the little dope, no one gives a f— about him,” said McGregor.

“How is that even in the f——Dallas stadium?”

In last night’s post-fight press conference, a question regarding the possibility of fighting McGregor was put to Paul and he immediately cited his victory over Nate Diaz as an example of the difference between MMA fighters and boxers.

“Yeah, he’ll [Conor McGregor] never do that though,” explained Paul.

“He knows. He’s not his own boss. It’s easy to say Conor McGregor doesn’t want to fight Jake Paul, but it’s the f—— truth.

“Look at him go toe to toe with Nate Diaz who was easy work for me. It was like a Monday sparring session.”

McGregor has not responded yet but given the way boxing is going, a fight between the pair may not entirely be a surprise.

In recent years, fans have enjoyed several MMA and boxing crossover fights with Paul boasting victories over Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Diaz – all former MMA fighters.

Francis Ngannou has also crossed over with fights against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua before returning to the octagon with a victory of Renan Ferreira in October.
