Newly released footage has revealed the terrifying crash that left ESPN NFL Draft analyst Matt Miller with life-changing injuries.
The footage, obtained by The California Post, shows Miller driving his blue 2023 Ford Bronco on a Missouri roadway on June 17. The vehicle suddenly crosses the center line and enters the path of an oncoming semi-truck.
The truck driver attempts to avoid the collision but is unable to prevent the crash.
The violent impact destroyed Miller’s vehicle and left him with catastrophic injuries.
Witness Describes Frightening Moments Immediately After Devastating Collision
One eyewitness recalled the accident in an interview.
“I was leaving my sister’s house,” they told The Post. “I might have been maybe 100 yards behind. I witnessed the Bronco just a hard swerve into the semi’s lane. The semi tried to swerve. It made contact. I haven’t ever seen a car explode like that. I ran to the Bronco and there was no one in the vehicle. I heard groaning behind me.
“I saw a man laying in the grass. I called 911.”
Miller was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, where doctors treated him for multiple fractures, broken ribs, and severe injuries that ultimately required the amputation of his left arm.
In an update shared after the crash, Miller confirmed the surgery was successful. He also revealed surgeons were able to save his left leg following injuries to his femur and patella.
The longtime draft analyst said he will take an indefinite leave of absence from ESPN while focusing on his recovery.
The accident has also coincided with growing scrutiny surrounding Miller. Former fantasy football participants have accused him of failing to pay league winners in charity contests, allegations that have since drawn the attention of Missouri’s Attorney General’s Office. Miller has not publicly addressed the accusations in detail.
Despite the ongoing controversy, Miller has continued to express gratitude toward first responders and medical staff while asking for prayers as he begins what is expected to be a lengthy rehabilitation process.
