Major Breakthrough In Nancy Guthrie Abduction Case

There has been a major breakthrough in the search for Nancy Guthrie after the FBI released footage of a potential suspect.

Mom of Today show host Savannah Guthrie, 84-year-old Nancy, has now been missing for 11 days.

President Trump has deployed some of the most highly-skilled FBI officers to work on the disappearance case.

Just days into the search for Nancy, an alleged ransom note was issued to law enforcement and local media, demanding $6 million in bitcoin for Nancy’s return.

While the Guthrie family stated that they were ‘willing to pay,’ the ransom deadline passed without proof from the alleged abductor that Nancy was still alive, as requested by the Today host and her siblings.

With the elderly mom missing for 11 days, and the ransom deadline having passed, people are now wondering what the next steps of the investigation will be.

And it seems in the last 24 hours, officers have made a major breakthrough.

The FBI footage

Before the breakthrough, law enforcement obtained footage from Nancy’s home surveillance camera, showing a masked figure outside of her front door on the night of her disappearance.

The person appears to be armed and is seen near the front door security camera.

According to FBI Director Kash Patel, who the President ordered to oversee the case, the footage was retrieved from backend systems after investigators gained access to previously unavailable data.

“The video was recovered from residual data located in backend systems,” Patel explained during a briefing.

Guthrie has spoken out after the terrifying footage showing a masked ‘armed’ person outside the home of her missing mom was released by the FBI.

Still, no arrests have been made, and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that no further press conferences will be held until there is a clearer picture of what has happened to Nancy.

In a heartbreaking plea following the release of the footage, Savannah wrote on Instagram: “We believe she is still alive. Bring her home.”

Nancy Guthrie may require urgent medical care

If found alive following the breakthrough, the 84-year-old has potentially been without vital medication for 11 days.

Those closest to her say Nancy has limited mobility, and relies on daily medication.

Even more concerning is the fact that her pacemaker and home monitoring devices were disconnected shortly after she disappeared.

What move do the FBI make next?

With no suspects in custody, nor a person of interest in mind, law enforcement is working ‘around the clock’ according to Guthrie, to bring her mom home safely.

In a statement, the FBI wrote: “We are currently operating a 24-hour command post that includes crisis management experts, analytic support, and investigative teams.

“But we still need the public’s help.

“Someone has that one piece of information that can help us bring Nancy home.”

It’s been reported that they are now offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of Nancy.

It seems there is still yet to be communication between the family and the alleged kidnappers.

But just yesterday, a significant breakthrough was made…

Major breakthrough in the case

Just yesterday (February 11), officers found a mysterious black glove on the roadside near Nancy’s Arizona home, which former FBI agent Michael Harrigan has claimed could hold crucial DNA evidence.

Speaking to the New York Post, he said: “The question would be whether that glove was like a nitrile glove that was placed over another glove or whether it went against the skin.

“Whether it’s against the skin or over another glove would determine the likelihood of DNA being transferred to it from the suspect.”

He added: “They’ll be looking all over for skin cell DNA that could have been transferred to the glove, so I would expect they’ll be sending that to the laboratory and having that analysis done.”

While it’s possible that the glove could belong to someone not in connection with the disappearance, in a case where there are currently so many question marks, a small progression is seemingly invaluable.

Meanwhile, federal officers are taking DNA samples from both Nancy’s employees and outside her home, including droplets of the 84-year-old’s blood.

Former Las Vegas Police Lieutenant Randy Sutton told Fox News that the samples would be used to ‘eliminate individuals or obtain information about them.’
