New Twist In Search For Savannah Guthrie’s Missing Mom As FBI Issues Update

The FBI has issued an update as the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie enters day eight, and the latest twist in the case emerges.

Today show Savannah Guthrie and her family have made an emotional plea after their elderly mother was allegedly taken against her will last week (January 31), from her home in Tucson, Arizona.

The President demanded all federal law enforcement to be at the family’s disposal while they search for the missing 84-year-old, but the case has now taken a disturbing turn.

In a statement, Trump said: “We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely.

“The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family. GOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY.”

Concern grew after the elderly mother failed to show up for her usual Sunday morning church service (February 1).

And by late morning, emergency services were called to the property after her family had discovered Nancy was missing.

The ransom note

Just days into their search, law enforcement was sent a ransom note demanding millions in bitcoin for Nancy’s return, which the family responded to in a heartbreaking clip.

Posting on Instagram, the NBC co-host, who reportedly earns upwards of eight million dollars per year, said the family were ready to ‘talk’ with their mom’s potential abductor.

Guthrie said: “Everyone is looking for you, mommy.

“Everywhere. We will not rest. Your children will not rest until we are together.”

Speaking directly to the potential perpetrator, the 54-year-old added: “We are ready to talk.

“But we need to know without a doubt that she is alive and you have her… Please, reach out to us.”

‘We will pay’

Over the weekend, the family issued another devastating statement in reply to the ransom note.

“We received your message and we understand,” she said joined alongside her siblings, Cameron and Annie.

“We beg you now to return our mother to us, so that we can celebrate with her.”

Guthrie added: “This is the only way we will have peace. This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

It’s understood that Nancy requires critical medication that must be taken every 24 hours to survive, and that she disappeared without it.

Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, has since emphasized that Nancy’s life is ‘in jeopardy.’

She has a pacemaker, which reportedly stopped sending signals around 2:28 a.m. on Sunday (February 1).

The 84-year-old woman has been described as roughly being 150 pounds, 5 feet 5 inches tall, in limited health, and cannot walk or run easily.

FBI issue update

In a shocking update, the FBI reported that there is now another note circulating around local media.

In a statement to People, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said: “The FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.

“Investigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity.”

According to local outlet News 13, the note contains information the senders ‘seem to think’ will prove to investigators they are the same people who sent the first note.

However, former FBI agent Dennis Franks told Sky News that the family may have already been communicating with the kidnapper using code.

The expert said: “Some of the messages that Savannah is giving out, the family is giving out, have certain wording that I think may have significance to the kidnappers in that there could be some coding, some messages there.

“One of the first messages was that ‘We hope to see her back for a celebration…’

“That was kind of an unusual term to use, in my opinion.”

And now, the case has taken a sinister twist.

The latest twist

Drone footage taken on Sunday (February 8), shows a large number of FBI personnel, including the Evidence Recovery Team and Forensics Team members, at Nancy’s property.

Three detectives were spotted putting a long pole down the septic tank at the home’s rear.

This came just 24 hours after officers were last seen at the property, removing a car from her garage.

Investigators also went back to her daughter Annie’s home on Friday night (February 6) amid the disappearance, after it was reported that Annie was the last person to see Nancy before she was reported missing.

There are currently no suspects in the case, and officials have not commented on if any members of the Guthrie family have been ruled out as suspects in her disappearance.
