Authorities have issued a major update in the shooting of Alexi Pretti, as reports identify the two officers involved.

The two federal agents involved in the killing of Alex Pretti have now been identified after President Trump ordered a full investigation into his death.

Protests have been held in states all across the US following the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, at the hands of ICE.

The mom-of-three was shot by federal officer of more than a decade, Jonathan Ross, and it was previously unknown who was responsible for Pretti’s death.

But publicly accessible records have now identified the agents who fatally shot at the intensive care nurse.

Trump backtracks on ICE operation in Minnesota

Following outrage from US citizens, the President has seemingly backtracked on his mission, after deploying thousands of ICE agents to states, including Minnesota, to crackdown on crime and illegal immigration.

In a shocking move away from his administration’s original narrative, Trump announced just last week that he was firing the Border Patrol Commander leading the operation in Minnesota, Gregory Bovino.

He has since been replaced by Trump’s ‘border tsar’ Tom Homan, who the President described as ‘tough but fair.’

Following the major update, the White House also issued a statement informing the American people that the agents who shot Pretti will be placed on leave indefinitely.

And now, their identities have been revealed.

Eyewitnesses break their silence

Numerous onlookers have come forward following the shooting to give their account of what happened on January 24, but one revealed some extremely devastating details.

Talking to CNN, the eyewitness alleged that officers ‘maneuvered his body around like a rag doll’ following Pretti’s death.

The source added: “My view of the altercation was partially obstructed, but after a few seconds, I saw at least four ICE agents point guns at the man.

“I then saw the agents shoot the man at least six or seven times.

“They wanted to count the bullet wounds to see how many they got, like he was a deer.”

Pretti’s official cause of death has been reported

A medical examiner has now ruled Pretti’s official cause of death as a Homicide after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

The examiner’s report also noted that Pretti was ‘shot by law enforcement officer(s),’ and added that there were no other ‘significant conditions’ that could have contributed to his death.

But following his death, it’s been reported that the altercation was not Pretti’s first interaction with ICE.

Steve Schleicher, the Pretti family’s attorned, said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE: “A week before Alex was gunned down in the street – despite posing no threat to anyone – he was violently assaulted by a group of ICE agents.

“Nothing that happened a full week before could possibly have justified Alex’s killing at the hands of ICE on Jan 24.”

Will the officers be charged with his death?

Given that the shooting is now officially being reported as a homicide, it leaves the door open for the prosecution of the agents involved in the killing.

Not only could this go against everything the Trump administration has previously said about protecting ICE, but it also sets a new precedent for further scrutiny of ICE’s activities.

One user on X said: “Sounds like the federal agents that killed him should go to jail for 25+ years.”

While Vice President JD Vance vowed that Ross, who is responsible for the death of Good, was granted ‘absolute immunity’ from prosecution, it’s not been confirmed whether the same is true for the two agents who killed Pretti.

The federal officers are identified

Following national outrage, the names of the two agents who fatally shot Pretti have now been revealed.

The agents, from Texas, were assigned to ‘Operation Metro Surge,’ which saw thousands of federal agents deployed to Minnesota in December by the Trump administration.

While their names have now been released in publicly accessible documents, Customs and Border Protection have denied to confirm their identities.

In a statement, the board said it ‘will never confirm or deny attempts to dox our law enforcement officers.’

The spokesperson added: “Doxxing our officers put their lives and their families in serious danger.”

However, documents identified the agents as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa, 43, and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez, 35.

It’s reported that Ochoa is a Border Patrol agent who joined Customs and Border Protection in 2018, and that Gutierrez joined the agency in 2014, working in the Office of Field Operations.
