Lionel Messi has another huge World Cup game ahead as Argentina prepares to face England in Wednesday’s semifinal. The winner will play in Sunday’s final against either Spain or France.

While Messi gets ready for one of the biggest matches of the tournament, his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, has grabbed attention away from the field. The 38-year-old has started trending everywhere after sharing a photo of herself in yoga pants on Instagram Stories.

She is already quite famous for her fitness and style. Roccuzzo has built a massive following over the years and often shares scenes from her workouts, family life, and travels while supporting Messi throughout his career.

The attention around Roccuzzo comes during a busy week for Messi, who will face England for the first time in his career.

Speaking after Argentina’s quarterfinal win over Switzerland, Messi said the game carries special meaning but insisted his team remains focused on the challenge.

“Everything I have seen and remember [about Argentina vs. England from 1986] is from videos and images that Argentinians constantly watch and relive,” Messi said.

“But I think this group is used to playing football matches regardless of the opponent. Obviously, playing against England is special because they are a powerhouse, and matches against powerhouses are always special.”

Messi also admitted he has never played against England before.

“Personally, it’s the first time I’m going to play against them. I’ve played against everyone except England, so it will be nice for that reason too,” he said.

Earlier in the World Cup, Messi had a lighthearted exchange with Argentine journalist Sofi Martinez following Argentina’s dramatic 3-2 extra-time win over Cape Verde.

“When I look at you, they ask why I’m looking at you,” Messi told Martinez. “And when I greet you, they ask why I’m greeting you.”

The scene made everyone in the media area laugh. It also brought back old online rumors that first appeared after the 2022 World Cup, even though there has never been any evidence to support them.

Now, Messi is fully focused on Argentina’s World Cup semifinal against England. The match kicks off at 3 p.m. ET on Wednesday and will air on FOX.
