Gordon Ramsay\u00a0has opened up about his\u00a0cancer diagnosis\u00a0and has warned others of what to look out for.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The\u00a0celebrity\u00a0chef opened up on\u00a0Instagram\u00a0to his devoted fans after announcing his cancer diagnosis late last month (August 30).<\/p>\n

The\u00a0post\u00a0has now received over half a million likes, as he warned others to be aware of the risks.<\/p>\n

Well wishes quickly flooded the comments following the news.<\/p>\n

One wrote: \u201cHeal quickly, chef, and thank you for bringing awareness to all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another shared: \u201cI hope everything is okay, chef. I just lost my mom to cancer. I pray you can stay safe and healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 58-year-old revealed that he was diagnosed with skin cancer earlier this year, and swiftly had an operation to remove it.<\/p>\n

The dad-of-four noted that surgeons were able to successfully remove the basal cell carcinoma \u2013 a type of non-melanoma skin cancer.<\/p>\n

He captioned the post: \u201cGrateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you! Please don\u2019t forget your sunscreen this weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cI promise you it\u2019s not a face lift! I\u2019d need a refund.\u201d<\/p>\n

Skin cancer is a very common form of the disease, but medical experts note that most cases are preventable, and linked to UV radiation exposure.<\/p>\n

This can be from either the sun, or tanning beds.<\/p>\n

Cancer Research also left a comment under the post, which read: \u201cGlad to hear you\u2019re doing well, Gordon, and thanks for raising awareness of how important it is to stay safe in the sun.\u201d<\/p>\n

After sharing the signs and symptoms, the\u00a0TV\u00a0personality also urged fans to be hyper-aware and conscious of the time they spend in the sun, and the damaging impact it can really have.<\/p>\n

Cancer Research added: \u201cSeek shade, cover up, and apply sunscreen regularly and generously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Symptoms include a growth on the skin, typically found on body parts that are more exposed to the sun, such as the face, neck, and hands, as well as new or changing spots, and sores that don\u2019t heal, according to the\u00a0Cleveland Clinic.<\/p>\n
