For years, Kate Hudson, 47, has treated the subject of sex with the same humor and honesty she brings to many of her\u00a0interviews, often speaking openly about relationships, confidence and intimacy.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a level of candor that has become part of her public personality, making it little surprise that her latest comments quickly found a wide audience.<\/p>\n

Goldie Hawn: \u2018I love sex\u2019<\/h2>\n

During a joint interview with\u00a0People\u00a0in 2020,\u00a0Hudson\u00a0and her mother, Goldie Hawn, laughed while recalling the frank conversations they had shared over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat did you teach me about\u00a0sex? There are so many things. We talk a lot about sex. Surprisingly,\u201d Hudson told her mother.<\/p>\n

Goldie Hawn, now 80, remembered one lesson in particular.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018I want you to understand something about Mommy: I\u2019m not a prude. I love sex.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Hudson quickly remembered the rest of the conversation.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh, that\u2019s right. And then she said, \u2018Sex is so much fun. But it\u2019s better when it\u2019s with one person.\u2019 And that was a good lesson.\u201d<\/p>\n

The topic didn\u2019t disappear as Hudson got older.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou were trying to engage and asking, like, what was going on with me sexually,\u201d Hudson recalled. \u201cI was like, \u2018Mom, let\u2019s just say that I\u2019m kind of a sexually oriented type of personality.\u2019 And she goes, \u2018Please, I have known that since you were 2 years old.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Mom!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Freedom\u2019 after 40<\/h2>\n

That same honesty resurfaced in 2025 while Hudson was promoting her Netflix comedy series Running Point.<\/p>\n

Speaking with\u00a0Bustle, the\u00a0Oscar\u00a0nominee reflected on how her outlook has changed over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe best part about sex in your 40s, honestly, is the freedom,\u201d she told the outlet.<\/p>\n

\u201cSex isn\u2019t supposed to be pretty, and I think that when you get older, you kind of have more fun with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hudson, who has been engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa since 2021, also said her fianc\u00e9 doesn\u2019t mind her naturally flirtatious personality.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m the biggest flirt on the planet. So, I think anybody who\u2019s ever been with me is very aware that I flirt with everybody \u2013 girls, boys. Thank God Danny is my partner. He can handle this. I met the right guy,\u201d she said of her fianc\u00e9, who she shares daughter Rani Rose.<\/p>\n

For Hudson, that confidence extends beyond the bedroom.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not just about finding love,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s really about finding your place, your confidence in the things that you want in your life, whether it\u2019s work or relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Spontaneous to responsive\u2019<\/h2>\n

While Hudson\u2019s comments resonated with many women, experts say there\u2019s no single timeline when it comes to sexual desire.<\/p>\n

Clinical psychologist Judit Merayo Barredo says one of the biggest misconceptions is that libido inevitably fades with age.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe idea that sexual desire simply dies off in our 40s is one of the most persistent myths in modern psychology,\u201d Barredo told\u00a0Bored Panda. \u201cDesire doesn\u2019t disappear; it evolves from \u2018spontaneous\u2019 to \u2018responsive.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
