Robert De Niro has long been one of Donald Trump\u2019s fiercest critics.<\/p>\n

In an emotional interview, the actor broke down as he explained how the President is \u201cdestroying\u201d America.<\/p>\n

A \u201dbuffoon\u201d, and \u201didiot\u201d, a \u201dmonster\u201d and a \u201dvicious dictator.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hollywood legend Robert De Niro usually doesn\u2019t mince words when describing Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

And now the 82-year-old actor has spoken out again. He recently appeared on The Best People With Nicole Wallace podcast and didn\u2019t hold back in his criticism, telling listeners that Trump is \u201cdestroying\u201d America.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe story is our country, and Trump is destroying it, and who knows what his reasons are, but it\u2019s sick, it\u2019s f***** up,\u201d the Academy Award winning actor said and added with urgency, \u201cWe have to save the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

De Niro went on to label Trump an \u201cenemy of this country,\u201d emphasizing, \u201cLet\u2019s not kid ourselves. It\u2019s that simple. Everybody has to stick together to get them out and get back on track.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued to stress the importance of resisting the administration\u2019s influence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the only way. There\u2019s no magic. There\u2019s no nothing \u2013 people are not going to go away, even if Trump dies for some reason by having an illness or something,\u201d De Niro said. \u201cParts of that movement are still there, and that\u2019s the scary part. It has to be neutralized by the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor grew visibly emotional during the conversation when Wallace praised him for always \u201clifting up everybody around you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to \u2014 you have to lift people up,\u201d he said, choking up slightly. \u201cYou have to bring them together. Period. You can\u2019t divide people. You can\u2019t win that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the state of the nation, the Taxi Driver star added:<\/p>\n

\u201cLook what we have, look who we have there, it\u2019s almost like a destiny to have this thing there, destroying\u2026 attempting to destroy this country and maybe not even understanding why. So it\u2019s up to us to protect the country.\u201d<\/p>\n
