The search for the family of Argentine soccer player Lucas Trejo has ended in tragedy after they were found dead following the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela last week.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Trejo\u2019s club, Club Sport Mar\u00edtimo de La Guaira, the bodies of his wife, Yanina Maranella, and the couple\u2019s two children, Aar\u00f3n and Ainhoa, were discovered after an intensive search that lasted 74 hours.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the club said: \u201cClub Sport Maritimo La Guaira deeply mourns the loss suffered by Lucas Trejo\u2019s family. We ask for respect for his relatives and teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement added: \u201cAfter a 74-hour search, they were found deceased.\u201d<\/p>\n

The devastating discovery comes after\u00a0Venezuela\u00a0was hit by two powerful\u00a0earthquakes\u00a0measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude on Wednesday. Officials have reported at least 1,430 people have died, while tens of thousands are still missing as rescue crews continue searching through the destruction, according to\u00a0VT.<\/p>\n

Trejo went to their home in La Guaira, where his brother-in-law, Ricardo Ardiles, said he discovered \u2018a horrific scene\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe found absolutely nothing of what the building itself had been,\u201d Ardiles told\u00a0CNN, according to Tyla.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe pray for eternal life for them\u201d<\/h2>\n

Family friend and fellow soccer player Edson Tortolero also confirmed the heartbreaking news on Instagram.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe inform all the people of Venezuela and Argentina that the bodies of Lucas Trejo\u2019s family members have been found lifeless,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cWe thank everyone for the support and ask for the most sincere respect for his family at this time. WE PRAY FOR ETERNAL LIFE FOR THEM.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trejo joined Venezuelan club Mar\u00edtimo earlier this year after spending much of his professional career playing in Venezuela. Argentine media reported that after the earthquakes hit, the defender\u2019s father and brother traveled to Venezuela to help him search for his missing wife and children.<\/p>\n

Argentina\u2019s soccer team wrote a tribute<\/h2>\n

Just months before the disaster, Trejo shared a heartfelt birthday message for Yanina on social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cHappy birthday my love!!!\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay God richly bless your life and continue to fulfill the desires of your heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cIt is a blessing for us as a family to have you and to move forward in the purpose we have together! With you everything is easier and more beautiful always.\u201d<\/p>\n

Argentina\u2019s soccer team also wrote a tribute on their official Instagram page.<\/p>\n
