World Champion Diver Ignores ‘No Women’ Sign On Extreme Water Slide And Goes Down It Anyway

Welcome to Yorkie’s “not for girls” ad on a water slide – except this time, there’s a good reason for it.The well-known Area 47 adventure park in Austria offers various “extreme” activities, but it doesn’t seem like they’re all appropriate for women.

Despite this, a world-class diver who was there wasn’t put off by the warning. The main draw for visitors is ‘Europe’s fastest waterslide,’ which is off-limits to women.

Rhiannan Iffland’s daring video at the Area 47 water park went viralInstagram/@rhiannan_iffland

Forget about the gender-neutral canyoning, white-water rapids, and bungee jumping in the park.

While visiting the facility, which promises speeds of up to 50 mph, Rhiannan Iffland decided to check out what women were missing out on.She released footage of herself trying out the dangerous water slide on social media.

Seven-time world champion cliff diver Iffland, who is no stranger to extreme heights, can be seen gleefully making her way to the slide’s entrance as she explains that “women aren’t supposed to use this.”She gestures at the following sign above: “Due to high risk of injury, women are not allowed to use this slide!”

The 32-year-old didn’t appear to be very concerned about the possibility of harming herself in spite of the warning—that is, until it came time to release the bars and launch herself down an extremely steep vertical drop.Iffland gives her friend filming her water park shenanigans a sideways glance, and her expression says that’s when she realized she fucked up, but by then, it was too late to get back up the slippery slide.

Rather, viewers witness the Australian diver disappear down the male-only apparatus while she screams loudly, much to her friend’s pleasure who is observing from above.Sharing the footage on Instagram, Iffland wrote: “Here for a good time not a long time! Another YOLO moment.”

After watching the video, people went absolutely crazy on social media.

Some even started researching the reasons behind the Area 47 adventure park’s ban on women riding the slide, which turns out to be a very valid one. It’s actually more concerned with the health and safety of female guests than it is with sexism and park managers letting boys utilize an attraction on their own.

Recent years have seen accounts of women being ‘torn apart’ by fast-moving water slides.

Which, to be honest, doesn’t sound all that fun.

Women who come into contact with high-pressure water may suffer horrifying injuries, and the presence of foreign objects in the water increases the chance of infection, according to the US National Library of Medicine.

One can only presume that a world-class diver who is constantly around a body of water would be aware of this, and you would be 100% correct.

When her video became popular, Iffland stated to news.com.au: “It was never my intent to mock the safety regulations of this water slide. A person’s safety is paramount and I am constantly weighing up any danger with my job.”

“To suggest otherwise, is wrong,” she said.

Social media users worried that by attempting the slide, the Australian had given herself a DIY enema (Google it).

One said: “The amount of people that don’t understand why women aren’t supposed to go on this slide is scary!”

Another asked: “Giney wedgie?”

A third added: “I got the worst enema on that slide hahaha you are brave girl.”

While a fourth chimed in: “Unfortunately I got a water slide enema. Peed out half the swimming pool in the toilet from my behind. I literally couldn’t stand upright after it happened. Weirdest thing I’ve ever experienced.”
