Jennifer Lawrence Says She Felt ‘Gangbanged By The Planet’ After Having Nudes Leaked

Jennifer Lawrence’s leaked nudes scandal was a significant blow to her privacy and dignity, revealing the downside of living in a world where anyone can have quick access to celebrities.

‘The Fappening’ scandal in 2014 involved hackers infiltrating iCloud accounts of about 100 people, including high-profile celebrities, and publicly releasing private photos of the victims, including Jennifer Lawrence.

The scandal caused considerable distress to Jennifer Lawrence and the other victims, as their most intimate moments were exposed to the world, leading to debates about privacy and online security.

Amongst the likes of Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton and Cara Delevingne was Lawrence, who has since claimed that the scandal is going to ‘traumatise her for the rest of her life’.

Her nude photos – which were meant for then-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult – were leaked and dispersed all over the net.

She told the Hollywood Reporter:

“When the hacking thing happened, it was so unbelievably violating that you can’t even put it into words.”

“I feel like I got gang-banged by the f***ing planet. There was not one person in the world that is not capable of seeing these intimate photos of me.”

“You can just be at a barbecue and somebody can just pull them up on their phone. That was a really impossible thing to process.”

“I think, like, a year and a half ago, somebody said something to me about how I was ‘a good role model for girls,’ and I had to go into the bathroom and sob because I felt like an imposter.”

“A lot of women were affected, and a lot of them reached out to me about suing and none of that was gonna really bring me peace, none of that was gonna bring my nude body back to me and Nic, the person that they were intended for,” she said while speaking on an episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast.

“It wasn’t gonna bring any of that back. So I wasn’t interested in suing everybody; I was just interested in healing.”

The nude photo leak scandal led to the apprehension and sentencing of Ryan Collins, a 36-year-old hacker from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 2016.

Collins received an 18-month federal prison sentence for his involvement in the security breach that affected numerous high-profile individuals, including Jennifer Lawrence.

Ryan Collins admitted to running a phishing scam for two years, using it to obtain login details from more than 100 people, including high-profile celebrities.

Collins’ guilty plea shed light on the ease with which hackers can gain access to sensitive information.

Jennifer Lawrence stated that she never had any inappropriate experiences with Harvey Weinstein, a producer she worked with on Silver Linings Playbook.

Weinstein was accused of sexually harassing and assaulting over 100 women.

Edward Majerczyk used a phishing scheme to obtain login credentials of victims and subsequently stole their backed-up photos and videos.

However, no evidence was found linking Majerczyk to the actual leak of the material, and his lawyer stated that the stolen material was intended for the hacker’s personal use.

In addition to Jennifer Lawrence, several other high-profile celebrities, such as Kirsten Dunst, Gabrielle Union, and Kate Upton, were also victims of the 2014 photo hacking scandal.

The incident highlights the pervasive nature of cybercrime and the need for increased measures to protect individuals’ private information online.
