In 2012, Patricia and Dale Williams were super excited to welcome their new baby, Redd, into their family. He was such a wonderful little boy, but they quickly saw something unusual about him. His hair was bright white, like snow!
When Redd turned two months old, they noticed that his eyes would sometimes move in different directions. Curious about this, they started looking up information online and found out that he might have a condition called albinism.

After making some appointments, they found out that their diagnosis was right. Redd was diagnosed with Oculocutaneous Albinism Type One (OCA1), which is a rare condition.
The staff members were really amazed by how beautiful he looked. They believed that his hair would get darker as he grew up, but he still kept his unique features even with the diagnosis.

Redd and his big brother faced bullying when they were in kindergarten and elementary school. The kids picked on them because of their albinism, but luckily, their older brother Gage was always there to defend them.
Instead of letting the bullying get to them, the family united to spread awareness about albinism. They did this by sharing information on social media.
Redd finally had eye surgery and started attending a special school for kids who have trouble seeing.
