YouTuber banned from popular streaming site after crashing £150k McLaren while using phone on highway His account has gone down on the site

A YouTuber who crashed a £150k McLaren while using his phone appears to have been banned from a popular streaming site.

You might already be familiar with the crash that totalled an expensive McLaren supercar. Doherty was the one behind the wheel when he had been live streaming on Kick.

Those watching the stream got to witness the crash in real time, though fortunately he and his cameraman Michael – who had been sitting in the passenger seat – were not seriously harmed.

Doherty appeared to have been driving down a highway in the rain while using his phone when he lost control of the car, and in footage of the crash he could he heard saying ‘holy s**t’ before the camera turned to Michael, who appeared to be bleeding from the face.

The YouTuber asked his cameraman if he was okay before shouting: “Oh my god bro, my whole f**king car bro!”

His McLaren was wedged under a barricade and had taken serious damage, with Doherty passing the camera to his wounded friend before saying: “My f**king car, holy s**t no.”

Further social media updates confirmed that neither of them were seriously injured, though Michael was getting stitches on his face.

In the aftermath of the crash Doherty faced much criticism for using his phone while driving.

While he thanked some fans for reaching out to make sure he was ok, other viewers slammed him for ‘irresponsible driving’ and were in disbelief that he kept streaming right after the crash occurred.

Two days ago (6 October) he posted an update thanking the emergency services for their reaction to his crash and apologised to Michael for ‘putting you thru that’.

Now, it looks like Jack Doherty has been banned from streaming platform Kick.

Trying to access his channel on Kick throws up an error message which says they can’t find the page.

In a statement provided to LADbible, Kick said: “Kick does not condone illegal activity, which is why we swiftly took action and moved to ban this creator from the platform.”

While the streamer has called the crash ‘a huge learning lesson’, there are some calling for him to face a more serious punishment as using your phone while driving is illegal in 49 of 50 US states.

Only if he was driving in Montana would being on his phone while driving not have laws against it.

“License suspended, jail time,” was one viewer’s response, saying Doherty had just done some ‘well documented reckless driving’.

They also called for him to be banned from platforms, and since he seems to have been banned from Kick it’d seem that there are some consequences.

LADbible group has previously approached Doherty’s representatives for comment.
