USA vs. Canada has a love twist to the Gold medal game.
USA star Caroline Harvey and Canadian star Daryl Watts were once an item. That status changed in a major way and has now put a new twist on the hockey rivalry. The 2026 Winter Olympics have been short on drama. Now the latest issue involves another person from Team Canada.
Days after the Canadian women’s curling team was accused of cheating, a female member of the country’s hockey team is allegedly dealing with heartbreak.
Rumors began circulating on Tuesday night suggesting that the American defenceman and the Canadian forward had ended their relationship. This news came amid the Olympic tournament.
A TikTok video kicked things off, and soon the claims would make their way to X, formerly Twitter.
One post on X read, “Wdym kk harvey and daryl watts broke up in the middle of the Olympics…😭😭😭.”
A second post added, “You’ve heard of Heated Rivalry, now get ready for two women who recently broke up facing each other in an Olympic gold medal game featuring the absolute best rivalry in sports. The drama.”
Another claimed, “streets are saying Daryl Watts and Caroline Harvey broke up 😭😭😭😭 my lesbian heated rivalry 😭😭 noooooo 😭😭.”
“Its gonna be ‘The Battle of Beauties,” another post added while posting a picture of them together.
Caroline Harvey Seemingly Speaks On Relationship With Daryl Watts

Team USA defenseman Caroline Harvey seemingly confirmed she is single amid speculation linking her to Canadian forward Daryl Watts.
The two were never publicly confirmed to be dating, but social media found out on its own. Fans noticed Harvey had removed photos and references that had previously fueled speculation about a relationship.
During a TikTok Live, teammate Laila Edwards referred to Harvey as single. That prompted fans to interpret that she was no longer with Daryl Watts ahead of the gold medal game.
Before the controversy surfaced, Harvey spoke about the expectations surrounding Team USA and the pressure to maintain its standards in international play.
“There is definitely some pressure, of course, because we care and we want to keep that standard alive and be playing great USA hockey,” Harvey said.
“But it’s more enjoyable than anything because it’s just so exciting. You’re playing with the best of the best.”
Harvey has been one of the standout performers of the tournament. She leads the Olympics in points. The United States defeated Canada 5-0 earlier in the competition, but the gold medal game will determine the tournament champion.
