The final words of a dad who shot his daughter dead while visiting him in Texas have been revealed, after the two had argued about Donald Trump.
Lucy Harrison, 23, was killed after an altercation with her father about the President.
An inquest into her death has revealed the chilling details of the argument, which took place as Trump was preparing to be inaugurated for his second term of office.
Who was Lucy Harrison?
The British 23-year-old was from Warrington in Cheshire, UK, and had traveled to the US with her boyfriend Sam Littler, to visit her dad, but also for a vacation.

Her boyfriend spoke at the inquest into her death in January 2025, noting that Lucy would often become upset with her father when he spoke about owning a gun.
The inquest heard how her father, Kris Harrison, prior to shooting his daughter dead, had moved to the US when Lucy was still a child, and had previously been in rehab for alcohol addiction.
Her mom, Jane Coates, described the fashion buyer as a ‘real force of life,’ as per the BBC.
Coates said: “She cared. She was passionate about things. She loved to have debates about things that meant a lot to her.”
What was the argument about?
Littler described the ‘big argument’ about Trump during the hearing, prior to Harrison shooting his daughter dead.
His partner had allegedly asked her father during the Trump row: “How would you feel if I was the girl in that situation and I’d been s**ually assaulted?”
Her boyfriend reported that Harrison had replied that he had two other daughters who lived with him, so it would not upset him that much.
Following the comment, she grew ‘quite upset,’ and ran upstairs.
He later told the court that just half an hour before they were due to go to the airport, Lucy was taken by the hand and led into her dad’s bedroom.

Littler recalled hearing a loud bang about 15 seconds later, and Harrison then screamed for his wife, Heather.
The devastated boyfriend said: “I remember running into the room and Lucy was lying on the floor near the entrance to the bathroom and Kris was just screaming, just sort of nonsense.”
Harrison was not present in court, but had issued a statement saying that he and his daughter had been watching a news segment about gun crime, when he asked if she wanted to see his gun.
He then showed her a Glock 9mm semi-automatic handgun, which he kept in his bedside cabinet.
Harrison claimed he bought the gun for a ‘sense of security’ for his family while living in the states.
The shooting
Harrison revealed that he had issues with alcohol during his statement, and said he ‘briefly lapsed’ on the day of his daughter’s death.
The dad claimed to be emotional about her leaving the US, and could not recall whether his finger was on the trigger when the gunshot was fired.
“As I lifted the gun to show her I suddenly heard a loud bang,” Harrison recalled.
“I did not understand what had happened. Lucy immediately fell.”

Despite medical reports stating Lucy was shot in the chest from ‘mid-range’ by another person, a grand jury determined no-one would face prosecution over her death on June 10 last year.
Final words
A friend of Lucy’s, Ella Gowing, stated that she was scared about her younger siblings being in a home where the gun was present.
During the inquest, she said: “She was concerned for her younger siblings, she did not want them to be around something so dangerous.
“She said that there was some volatility in Kris’s household which Lucy witnessed when she visited the States and made her feel extremely anxious.
“She talked about these worries to me.”

Following the shooting, Harrison could be heard shouting ‘I don’t know, I don’t know, call 911.’
Harrison said he ‘fully accepts’ the consequences of his actions in his statement.
The dad added: “There isn’t a day I don’t feel the weight of that loss, a weight I will carry for the rest of my life.”
The coroner’s ruling
Concluding the inquest, Coroner Jacqueline Devonish announced that she found Lucy died due to unlawful killing on the grounds of gross negligence manslaughter.
She said: “To shoot her through the chest whilst she was standing would have required him to have been pointing the gun at his daughter, without checking for bullets, and pulling the trigger.
“I find these actions to be reckless.”
A grand jury in the US has decided not to proceed with a conviction, determining there was not enough evidence to charge anyone in connection with Lucy’s death.
