The Gonzalez family attended their first-ever Dallas Cowboys NFL game, but they ‘never want to go back’
A family have opened up about how their ‘lives may never be the same’ following being attacked at an NFL game in Texas.
Last month, on September 22, Wenceslao and Lindsey Gonzalez, alongside their daughter, went to an NFL game at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Lindsey had bought her husband tickets to see the Dallas Cowboys go up against the Baltimore Ravens for his birthday and it was the family’s first ever live game. However, the experience turned into a nightmare as they were leaving the venue.
Lindsey told CBS News the family were coming out of the game when they saw a young woman around the same age as her daughter ‘sobbing’ and looking ‘scared’ while being shouted at by a man.
Desperate to help, they tried to get the man to leave her alone, however, he then turned on Wenceslao.
Despite doing her best to try and ‘separate them,’ the man ‘hit [Wenceslao] in the face’ and the next thing Lindsey remembers is ‘waking up in hospital’.

Arlington Police report Lindsey’s daughter and other witnesses saw the man punch her, knocking her to the floor unconscious before continuing to attack her by kicking her in the face.
Lindsey’s nose is now fractured in ‘several’ places, her jaw is ‘broken on the left side’ and she has ‘a total of 12 fractures’ in her face.
Doctors are reportedly worried she will never look the same despite doing their best to repair the fractures using four metal plates.
Wenceslao suffered torn ligaments in his leg and had surgery on Thursday (October 3).

A man named Rafael Ramirez has since been arrested and charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm.
Lindsey reflected that while she doesn’t ‘wish bad upon anybody’ she does want the man responsible to ‘pay for what he’s done’ and it’s resulted in her ‘never’ wanting to go back to a Dallas Cowboys game again.
However, while the family’s ‘whole world has been turned upside down’ and their ‘lives may never be the same after this,’ she added if she ‘saved’ the woman from the man, ‘then it was worth it’.
Another witness who tried to help stop the attack, Emma Hernandez, added: “Because if he could do this to people who just walked by and said something – we didn’t do anything to him, all we did was walk by and say something. If he could do something to this extent, to random people, who knows what he was doing to her, you know?”
