Kim Kardashian Gives Sharp 5-Word Reply After North West, 12, Sparks Backlash Over ‘Face Tattoos And Piercings’

Kim Kardashian had a short but pointed response after people online criticized her daughter North West for appearing in videos with fake piercings and tattoos. The posts quickly set off a debate about what’s appropriate for kids her age to wear online.

Over the weekend, 12-year-old North appeared in several TikTok clips on the account she shares with Kim. In the videos, she wore temporary tattoos across her face, bright blue contact lenses, and what looked like a faux septum piercing.

She wasn’t alone — her friends joined in too, each showing off matching braided hair, colorful extensions, and statement jewelry, making the whole thing feel like a group dress-up session rather than a serious makeover.

In the TikToks, North showed off dramatic lashes, layered silver jewelry, metallic grillz, and tattoo-style writing beneath her eyes. To match the vibe, she wore an oversized black T-shirt and sneakers for a casual, edgy look.

The post was captioned: “Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life.”

But not everyone was amused. Many viewers quickly weighed in, with some saying the look was too grown-up for a 12-year-old. North, the eldest child of Kim and Kanye West, has often been in the spotlight — and once again, her creative expression sparked mixed reactions.

“She’s 12 years old by the way,” one viewer commented, pointing out her age. Another added: “How about go be a kid.”

While some critics felt her look was too much, others argued that it wasn’t that deep — especially since the timing was right before Halloween, when costumes and playful makeup are everywhere. Many said it was harmless fun and nothing out of the ordinary for a kid experimenting with style.

Kim clearly agreed. Rather than letting the online chatter grow, she shut down the criticism with a quick and confident five-word reply.

Under a TikTok shared by Daily Mail Australia, the SKIMS founder commented: “This is such a non-issue.”

Her short response — paired with a crying emoji — instantly went viral. Fans praised Kim for brushing off the negativity and standing by her daughter’s creativity and sense of self-expression.

This isn’t the first time Kim has faced backlash over North’s style choices. Just a few weeks earlier, fans had called her out for allowing North to wear a dermal piercing during a family trip to Rome. Kim later admitted that the situation became a teaching moment for her as a mom.

She recently spoke about parenting in the spotlight during an episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, sharing how she’s still figuring things out as her daughter grows up under constant public attention.

“I’m like, okay, we’re never wearing that again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” she admitted. “As a mom, you’re kind of like learning at the same time.”

Kim also talked about how proud she is of North’s confidence and independence, saying: “She’s really mature in one sense where she’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this and I don’t really care that they don’t like… my blue hair or this or that.”

“She’s really confident.”

Raising kids is challenging enough, but doing it while the entire world watches is on another level. Still, for Kim and her family, navigating public scrutiny has become second nature — and moments like this show how she continues to balance it with humor and perspective.
