The surgeon who operated on Charlie Kirk following his fatal gunshot wound has revealed the ‘miracle’ that occurred during the shooting.
Charlie Kirk, a close ally of President Trump and supporter of the MAGA movement, was shot dead while hosting an event at a university campus in Utah last Wednesday (September 10).
Footage of the brutal attack has circulated on X, formerly Twitter, depicting the moment a loud bang was heard.
The Turning Point USA founder, 31, was violently struck in the neck before collapsing in his chair, and blood could be seen pouring from the wound.
He was taking questions from audience members before his death, and was discussing gun violence at the time of the shooting.
Kirk was rushed to a local hospital following the violent shooting, but it was later confirmed by President Trump that the gunshot was fatal.
But the surgeon who operated on Kirk, after his team swiftly rushed him to a nearby hospital four miles away from the university campus, has since spoken out.
Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet claimed he spoke directly with the surgeon, who claimed a real ‘miracle’ occurred when Kirk was shot, despite losing his life.
In a social media post, Kolvet wrote: “I apologize, this is somewhat graphic, but in this case, the fact that there wasn’t an exit wound is probably another miracle, and I want people to know.”
The surgeon noted that the bullet ‘absolutely should have gone through, which is very very normal for a high powered, high velocity round.’
“I’ve seen wounds from this caliber many times and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two,” the surgeon allegedly told Kolvet.
He added: “His bone was so healthy and the density was so so impressive that he’s like the man of steel.
“It should have just gone through and through.
“It likely would have killed those standing behind him too.”
Concluding the post, he said: “‘Even in death, Charlie managed to save the lives of those around him.
“Remarkable. Miraculous.”
He revealed that the surgeon found the deadly bullet just beneath Kirk’s skin.
His funeral is currently taking place at the State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, which holds around 60,000 people.
Several high-profile figures and politicians, including President Trump, are expected to be in attendance.
Attendees will see heightened security measures put in place throughout the venue, likened to that of the Super Bowl, as an estimated $10 million has been spent to ensure the event is safe.
