Neil Patrick Harris has left fans in complete disbelief after sharing a sweet photo of his teenage twins as they prepare for a major milestone in their lives.
The How I Met Your Mother star, 52, took to Instagram to share a snapshot of his 14-year-old twins Harper and Gideon, whom he shares with husband David Burtka, 50.
The couple married in 2014 after first going public with their relationship in 2007.
The twins, who were born in 2010 via surrogate, are now preparing to enter high school, and everyone had the same comment about the picture.
Harris and Burtka became parents through a unique arrangement where both men contributed biologically to the pregnancy.
Speaking to journalist Barbara Walters in 2014, Harris explained their approach: “We inserted one of my s***m and one of David’s s***m into two eggs with the hope that they would both take, just because we both wanted to be dads biologically. Both took, miraculously.”
The twins are non-identical, having been conceived from two separate eggs, but the couple has deliberately chosen not to determine which child is biologically related to which parent.
As Harris has consistently stated: “I have no interest in [finding out]. We are their parents, and I love them implicitly.”
As Harper and Gideon have grown older, fans have increasingly commented on their resemblances to both parents.
The family regularly receives comments speculating about which twin belongs biologically to which father, though opinions vary widely.

In 2022, at a Hudson River Park Friends event, Mary Guiliani, a family friend, spoke about David’s parenting skills, describing how he creates a welcoming environment that makes the twins’ friends want to stay over so much that she has to ‘bribe’ her own children to leave, Hello reports.
Now, the transition to high school represents more than just an academic milestone for the family.
Along with new schools comes new technology, as Harris noted in his caption about upgrading from Chromebooks to MacBooks. It’s one of many signs that Harper and Gideon are rapidly approaching adulthood.
Both Harris and Burtka have been praised for their parenting approach.
