16-pound baby is all grown up – and still famous for his size – Dotnetal

When 24-year-old Patricia Clarke found out she was pregnant in 1983, she had more than just a hunch that her baby would be quite big.

Having already had one child, she was aware that her family had a history of having big babies. However, she could never have imagined just how enormous the baby she was expecting would actually be.

Patricia gave birth to Kevin Robert Clark, who astonishingly weighed over 16 pounds. At that time, he was not only the largest baby ever born at Community Memorial Hospital but possibly the biggest baby in all of New Jersey.

He was so big that he couldn’t fit into a regular crib, and his baby clothes were too tight for him, but thankfully, Kevin was perfectly healthy, which made his parents very happy.

It didn’t take long for people to notice his size. He made news all over the country, inspiring a segment on “Saturday Night Live” and even getting a shout-out on “Good Morning America.”

But Kevin wasn’t finished stealing the spotlight there. According to the New York Post, by the time he turned 12, he was already 5 foot 7. By the time he reached junior high, he had grown to 6 foot 5. After that, he just kept on growing.

“There isn’t a day that goes by when someone doesn’t ask me how tall I am,” Kevin shared with the Post about his height.

“I like to joke that I’m 5-foot-21. When people ask if I play basketball, I ask them if they play miniature golf.”

Now, Tom is 35 years old. He’s a former military guy who lives with his 6-foot tall wife and their Great Dane.

He’s learned to accept that he’s taller than almost everyone else. In fact, he embraces his size with confidence. Nowadays, Tom stands at 6 feet 9 inches tall.

It must be tough to be born into the spotlight and grow up with people constantly pointing at you and asking about your height.

That being said, Kevin seems to be managing it really well … we wish him all the best for the future!
