Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have given fans something new to talk about. A photo from their July 3 wedding at Madison Square Garden showed the newlyweds holding a small white dog. After seeing the picture, many fans wondered whether the couple had quietly welcomed a new pet before their wedding.
According to the Daily Mail, the photo was part of a collection of personal pictures displayed in gold frames as guests arrived at the ceremony. The display also included photos of Swift and Kelce backstage during The Eras Tour and on a vacation in Lake Como, Italy. But it was the mystery dog that suddenly became the biggest topic of conversation.
Mystery Dog Becomes The Latest Topic
The Daily Mail shared the image on Instagram on July 4, and fans immediately began guessing about the dog’s identity. Many believed the fluffy white dog looked like a Samoyed because of its thick coat and fox-like face.
Neither Swift nor Kelce has said the dog belongs to them. Still, some fans connected the photo to an earlier report from March. At that time, a member of Swift’s security team reportedly walked a Samoyed at an airport in Westchester County, New York. That sighting added weight to all of this.
If the dog does belong to the couple, it would mark a change for Swift, who has always shared her love of cats. She owns Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button, and the three pets have appeared in her social media posts, music videos, and other projects over the years.
Swift once joked about dogs in her Netflix documentary Miss Americana. Her mother, Andrea Swift, owns a Great Dane named Kitty. During the film, Swift joked that traveling with the large dog felt like flying with “a pony.” Andrea explained that she always wanted a large dog and decided to get one while receiving treatment after her 2015 breast cancer diagnosis.
For now, the mystery remains unsolved. Fans only have the wedding photo and the earlier airport sighting to support their theory.
The speculation comes as Swift and Kelce enjoy their first days as newlyweds. People reported that Swift recently spent time in Montana with Jason and Kylie Kelce after the wedding.
The couple also reportedly arrived at a Southern California airport on July 9 and plans to attend JuJu Smith-Schuster’s wedding on July 11 before Kelce reports to Kansas City Chiefs training camp on July 28.
