The 56-year-old actress and singer Jennifer Lopez graced the premiere of her new romantic comedy Office Romance on Tuesday, May 26, where she donned a stunning black Versace gown.

The “Let’s Get Loud” singer styled her hair long and straight, complementing her look with smoky bronze-toned makeup.

Soon after the event, Jennifer Lopez posted several photos and videos from the premiere on Instagram.

However, many users on social media quickly noted the stark contrast between her appearance in the edited images and the unfiltered photos taken by professional photographers at the event.

In the Instagram content, Lopez’s skin appeared significantly airbrushed and radiant, with rosy cheeks and softened facial features.

“When filters cannot help,” one user commented on X while juxtaposing Lopez’s Instagram post with an unedited red carpet image.

The raw images revealed more authentic signs of aging, including wrinkles around her eyes, forehead, and mouth.

“It’s not terrible, but she always uses filters, so when you see the unfiltered version,” one user remarked. Another person stated, “It would be the perfect moment for JLo to accept aging, rather than twerking her way out of it.”

On the other hand, one individual defended her, saying, “She looks great for her age, actually.” “JLo looks fantastic for her age. Real skin has texture. Stop trying to shame older women,” another user added.

“She appears to be her age, and that’s perfectly fine,” another voice chimed in.

The online discussion also sparked renewed speculation about whether Lopez has ever had cosmetic enhancements.

Throughout the years, the actress and singer has consistently denied having Botox or any plastic surgery.

In 2021, Lopez directly addressed a social media user who claimed she had “definitely” used Botox.

“LOL that’s just my face!!! For the 500 millionth time… I have never done Botox or any injectables or surgery!! Just saying’ 😊,” Lopez responded at that time.

She also made it clear that she has “nothing against” cosmetic enhancements but mentioned that they have never been appealing to her personally.

“It’s just not my thing,” she stated.

Instead, Lopez has always credited her skincare routine and non-invasive beauty treatments for her youthful appearance.

“I want the hyaluronic acid in there. I want the things that are going to help, because I don’t want to have to resort to needles at some point. I’m not saying I won’t one day, but I haven’t yet,” she previously mentioned.

Lopez has also candidly discussed how aging has influenced her confidence over the years.

In a 2017 interview with W Magazine, she confessed that she feels much more secure in herself now than she did in her twenties.

“Men in their 20s are very confident and cocky, while women tend to be super-insecure. Then it shifts: Men become super-insecure, and women grow comfortable in their own skin, which makes them more beautiful,” Lopez explained.

She added, “I never appreciated my body or my looks when I was in my 20s. Now I’m like, Look at me! Look at you! Not in a conceited or arrogant way — I just value myself in a way I didn’t back then.”

“It’s not about being perfect. I appreciate the scars I’ve earned,” she added.

In Office Romance, Lopez shares the screen with Brett Goldstein, known for his role in Ted Lasso.

This Netflix romantic comedy centers around Lopez’s character, Jackie Cruz, a CEO of a major airline, who embarks on a clandestine romance with a new employee portrayed by Goldstein.

In a conversation with People, Lopez expressed her admiration for her co-star and shared her surprise at how different he is from his character Roy Kent in Ted Lasso.

“I anticipated a more rugged persona, but instead, I found a kind, gentle, and incredibly intelligent individual who is also quite charming. That caught me off guard, I believe,” she confessed.

Lopez also mentioned that the Hollywood film was tailored specifically for her.

The actress stated that Goldstein and co-writer Joe Kelly informed her that the project would not proceed without her participation.

“It’s a bit edgier than your typical J.Lo romantic comedy, yet it retains all the elements of a beloved classic rom-com,” Lopez clarified.

The movie is set to debut on Netflix on June 5 and features a cast that includes Betty Gilpin, Tony Hale, Amy Sedaris, Edward James Olmos, and Bradley Whitford.
