Donald Trump became the oldest person in US history to be inaugurated as president earlier this year.
The previous real estate tycoon just turned 79 a few weeks ago, and while some people think his age might be an issue, Trump insists he is still in great shape.
However, there are some signs that can’t be ignored. Recently, one of Trump’s hands looked a bit ‘wrinkled.’ Experts say this could mean something important.
Donald Trump may not be getting any younger, but he seems to be doing well health-wise, at least according to his team. In April, Dr. Sean Barbabella, the White House doctor, released a report saying Trump is completely fit to be the Commander-in-Chief.
The report included details about Trump’s height and weight, along with scans of his eyes, ears, neck, throat, and heart that showed everything was normal. Barbabella also mentioned that the president had a colonoscopy in 2024.
During that check-up, it was found that Trump had a benign polyp and diverticulitis, which is an inflammation in the colon’s pockets. They decided he would need another colonoscopy in three years.
Trump’s medical report also showed that he is on medication, including prescriptions for cholesterol, a heart prevention drug, and a cream for a “skin condition” that he uses when necessary.

Additionally, Barbabella mentioned that Trump underwent bilateral cataract surgery at some time, and she added that the president is in great shape regarding his heart, lungs, brain, and overall physical health. She concluded that his active lifestyle contributes positively to his well-being.
“President Trump shows remarkable mental and physical health and is completely capable of performing the responsibilities of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” Barbabella stated in April.
Even though the medical report confirms that Trump is fit to serve as President of the United States, it doesn’t change the fact that he is aging. Interestingly, the current president has been spotted with bruises on his hands multiple times over the past year.
Last spring was when the bruise on Trump’s dominant hand was first noticed, during his court appearance for the hush money trial involving Stormy Daniels. Since then, the president has been seen with bruises on his hand on several occasions, including in February when he met with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The White House has stated that the bruises and wrinkles are not related to Trump’s health.
In a statement, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt tried to explain that the bruising is just from a lot of handshaking.
“President Trump is a man of the people, and he meets and shakes hands with more Americans every day than any other president in history,” Ms. Leavitt said. “His dedication is strong, and he shows that every single day.”

In a follow-up statement, Leavitt mentioned: “President Trump has bruises on his hand because he’s always working and shaking hands all day long.” In his Time Magazine interview for the 2024 Person of the Year issue, Trump himself said that the bruising was from “shaking hands with thousands of people.”
Even if that’s true, Trump’s ‘wrinkled hands’ have once again caught everyone’s attention. Before he and his wife, Melania, went to the Kennedy Center premiere of Les Misérables in mid-June, social media users noticed the bruising again.
“His hand really shows his age,” one person commented on X, according to Irish Star, while another added, “I see the bruising on his hand.”
So, could it be that Trump’s bruising is due to something other than shaking hands with so many people? According to Economic Times, Dr. Ola Otulana, a general practitioner and doctor at the Cassiobury Court rehabilitation facility in Watford, England, said that the bruise on the president’s right hand looks “consistent with a superficial contusion.” He mentioned that it might have come from “minor trauma” like bumping into something, or maybe even from a blood draw.
Dr. Otulana also said that “this could happen from something as simple as bumping the hand against a hard surface, repeated pressure like leaning on a cane or gripping something tightly, or even medical procedures like venepuncture or blood draw,” and went on to explain that because of the “thinning skin” and “more fragile blood vessels” in older adults, bruising can be “more noticeable.”
“Doesn’t raise any immediate red flags”
Additionally, the doctor mentioned that medications like blood thinners, aspirin, and other anti-inflammatory drugs can cause bruises to show up more easily and last longer, which might be what’s happening in this situation.
Still, Dr. Outalana said that the bruise on Trump’s hand “doesn’t raise any immediate red flags.”
The wrinkles and bruises aren’t the only health concerns about Donald Trump lately. On June 9, a photo of the president at an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event became very popular online, and many posts on X, Facebook, and TikTok wondered if he was wearing a catheter under his suit.
The image features fighter Kayla Harrison, who had just won the UFC women’s bantamweight championship, placing her belt around Trump’s waist.
One post said: “Trump seems to be wearing leg braces and maybe a catheter. The weakness on his right side has been noticeable for several years. And the bruising on his right hand could be from him getting some kind of infusion therapy. This is common with diseases similar to Parkinson’s.”
Is Trump wearing a catheter?
Another person said: “Trump is definitely using a Foley catheter. It’s a tube that goes into the bladder to collect urine in a bag attached to the leg. That line down his pants? It’s not just a crease. It’s tubing. Every time he walks, it sounds like the sloshing of a warm Capri Sun.”
The post became really popular. Some people defended Trump, saying that it wasn’t a catheter at all.
“No, it isn’t. That pant leg is tight, and that perfectly straight line is just a crease. Foley catheters are not usually used unless after a procedure. A patient who can walk usually uses self-cath or male pads,” one comment said.
