Leo Terrell, once a prominent civil rights attorney and now a Fox News commentator, was appointed by Donald Trump to a pivotal role within the Justice Department earlier this year.
He has recently thrust himself into the spotlight with a provocative assertion—calling for former First Lady Jill Biden to be prosecuted for “elder abuse.”
The political sphere erupted after a high-ranking Department of Justice official publicly demanded criminal charges against Jill Biden, accusing her of mistreatment in light of her husband’s concealed health struggles.
Terrell, 70, who currently serves as senior counselor to the assistant attorney general for civil rights, leveled this incendiary claim shortly after it came to light that President Joe Biden is battling advanced prostate cancer.
Reacting to a post on X alleging that Jill Biden “was aware of President Biden’s health issues” yet “still encouraged him to pursue the presidency,” Terrell did not mince words:
“Elder abuse! Criminal charges??” he declared, sparking an intense surge of debate and backlash online.
Elder abuse is a form of domestic violence and @DrBiden has a lot of explaining to do about her part in defrauding the American people and taxpayers.
I would never wish @JoeBiden physical harm despite my personal political views; too bad his own family compromised his wellbeing.— Dear Easy Diaries (@deareasydiaries) May 19, 2025
Leo Terrell didn’t relent. He amplified his accusations by sharing multiple posts, one of which asserted: “Elder abuse is a form of domestic violence, and Dr. Biden owes an explanation for her role in deceiving the American public and taxpayers.”
That same post added, “I would never wish physical harm on Joe Biden despite my personal political stance; unfortunately, his own family jeopardized his health.”
Another scathing repost declared: “His medical team should have diagnosed this years ago! Shame on Jill and everyone who looked the other way and ignored it! They are undeniably guilty of elder abuse, and if they put him through radiation or chemotherapy now, they should be held accountable in the harshest way. Yet, they sought fame and influence regardless of the cost.”
The Outcry
This barrage of criticism follows startling revelations from medical professionals and political insiders who suggest Biden’s cancer may have remained hidden—or deliberately concealed—for years. Many find this narrative difficult to swallow.
“What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden overlook stage five metastatic cancer, or is this just another coverup???” Donald Trump Jr. posted, joining the chorus of skeptics. It’s important to clarify that Jill Biden’s doctorate is in education, not medicine.
Former President Donald Trump himself stoked the controversy, claiming, “Somebody is not telling the facts.”
Yet, critics were quick to dismantle Trump’s insinuations, calling out their baselessness without hesitation.
One retort read: “Jill Biden holds a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership from the University of Delaware. She has never professed to be a medical doctor.”
Another questioned the entire premise: “Why would someone trained in education have any prior knowledge of prostate cancer before the medical professionals?”
And a third, clearly exasperated, bluntly responded: “Probably because she’s a Doctor of Education, not an MD, you absolute fool!”
“How Cruel and Malicious”
In the wake of Terrell’s incendiary allegations, responses poured in swiftly—and they were far from kind.
Detractors swiftly challenged not only the flawed reasoning behind Terrell’s claims but also the apparent motives fueling them. Many condemned his remarks as divisive and unjust, especially considering Jill Biden’s academic expertise lies in education, not healthcare.
“How cruel and hateful some Trump-supporting Republicans reveal themselves to be. They have no shame. Despicable,” one commenter lamented.

“This is absolutely reprehensible what the GOP is orchestrating—what relevance does cancer have to President Biden’s capacity to lead? He poses no threat to them. Leave the family in peace, and spare us these senseless, baseless accusations,” one individual expressed vehemently.
Throughout Biden’s presidency, his annual physical reports from 2021 to 2025 conspicuously omitted any reference to prostate-specific antigen (PSA) tests—the primary diagnostic screening for prostate cancer in men aged 50 and above. The American Cancer Society underscores these screenings as vital for early detection.
Following the revelation of his diagnosis, President Biden broke his silence on X, sharing a poignant message alongside a photo of himself and Jill Biden with their cat Willow: “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have discovered that our greatest strength lies within our broken places. Thank you for surrounding us with love and support.”
