News of Ayers’ death was confirmed by her employers in a statement on Sunday, after it was revealed that she’d been battling cancer.
Ayers was best known for hosting The RA Report with Robin Ayers between 6 and 7PM weekdays on KBLA Talk 1580 for the past two years, and had amassed a loyal following thanks to her entertainment and pop culture commentary.
Ayers’ cause of death has yet to be confirmed, but the radio star had revealed last year that she was battling leiomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that affects soft tissues, typically in the abdomen or uterus, according to the New York Post.
The station said in a statement: “On behalf of her precious family, it is with profound sadness that KBLA Talk 1580 announces the passing of our beloved colleague Robin Ayers on Thursday, December 05.
“Robin was a bright light. You could see her radiant smile through the radio.
“We all respected her immense talent, loved her jovial spirit, celebrated her love of family, and honored her faith in God.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Robin’s entire family, most especially her husband Rob and her twin daughters Brooklyn and Madison. We ask you to join us in praying for the Ayers family as they navigate the difficult days ahead.”

The station also confirmed it will offer a “special tribute to Robin” when it is “appropriate” for them to do so.
Listeners had shared their sadness at the news of the beloved host’s death, and sent their condolences to her husband and twin daughters, who’d just turned 18 over the Thanksgiving break.
Ayers had been a regular fixture on the airwaves for almost a decade, starting her reporting career at Afterbuzz TV as a podcast host in August 2016.
She remained there for three years before pivoting to entertainment reporting at theJasmineBRAND.
After joining KBLA Talk 1580, she was given her own self-titled show, where she continued to work after her cancer diagnosis and having survived two car accidents in 2023.

Other stars paid tribute to Ayers on social media, with singer Christina Milian writing: “Robin.. thank you. Thank you for your smile, the laughter and the moments we shared. It doesn’t even feel right saying this, my heart is broken.
“May your love pour thru and bring strength to Robbie, the Girls and your whole family. You followed your dreams and really did it from the ground up. We’re all proud of you. You left a mark in our hearts and you will be missed. Rest peacefully.”
Former SNL cast member Jay Pharaoh also wrote: “Heart broken, I pray to see you again one day in the kingdom my sister. Rest peacefully.”
Our thoughts remain with Ayers’ family, friends, and listeners at this heartbreaking time.
