One moment in the Playboy Mansion saw Pamela Anderson check herself that she was not living in ‘a movie’
Pamela Anderson has opened up about a moment in the Playboy Mansion involving Hugh Hefner which was the last straw.
Anderson has been long outspoken in her support of the controversial publisher.
However, that’s not to say there weren’t moments where their relationship was tested, including one incident which took place in the infamous Playboy Mansion which ultimately saw Anderson make the decision to leave.
Anderson first posed for the cover of Playboy magazine at the age of 22.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, she said: “I was painfully shy and I hated that feeling. That’s why I did it. I just didn’t want that feeling any more. Doing that first photoshoot gave me this little kind of portal on what it felt like to be a sensual woman. My sexuality was mine. I took my power back.”
When asked ‘if anyone has ever treated her with complete and utter respect’ across her career, she replied: “Hugh Hefner.”
However, that doesn’t mean every encounter with the publisher always made her feel comfortable.

In an interview with Piers Morgan on his series Life Stories, Anderson explained she was at the Playboy mansion with Hefner and some of the other girls and ‘followed them upstairs’.
She recalled: “I thought, ‘What could be going on up here?'”
And well, more than a lot was going on up there, Anderson revealing she came face-to-face with ‘seven girls’ who were going ‘one at a time with Hef’.
Anderson continued: “I thought, ‘This is not a movie. I need to leave.'”
Despite this awkward moment and how it prompted her to leave the mansion, Anderson still paid tribute to Hefner after his passing in 2017.

In a since-deleted post to Instagram she said: “I am me because of you. You taught me everything important about freedom and respect. Outside of my family. You were the most important person in my life.
“You gave me my life. Everything anyone loves about me is because you understood me. Accepted me and encouraged me to be myself. Love like no one else. Live recklessly With unfiltered abandon. You said the magazine was about a girl like me. That I embody the spirit you fantasized about. I was the one. You said.”
While Anderson’s experience of Hefner was seemingly mostly positive, multiple other Playboy models have come forward since his passing to accuse him of sexual assault and predatory behavior.
