It’s simply the “Espresso” effect. After Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet lead single became the song of the summer, the track made waves once again when it was parodied in a hilarious Saturday Night Live sketch featuring Ariana Grande and cast member Marcello Hernandez as Domingo. Since Ari’s episode aired, the sketch became just as much of a hit as the original song—and of course, comedic queen Sabrina had to join in on the action.

At her Short n’ Sweet show at LA’s Kia Forum, Sabrina featured Marcello during her pink handcuffs segment to introduce “Juno.” In it, she chooses someone in the crowd to “arrest” for being too hot. She’s featured stars like Millie Bobby Brown and Rachel Sennott at previous shows, but this time, it was none other than Domingo himself. Marcello pulled up in character, and might I just say I have zero notes on this bit?

“My name’s Domingo,” he said before Sabrina asked where he came from. “I’m from Miami, baby,” he playfully responded before she quipped, “Miami? I wish you were from my bedroom. What are you doing later tonight?”

He then referenced her hit “Bed Chem,” saying, “I’m the cute boy with the blue jacket and the thick accent.” When Sabrina asked if he had any last words, he broke into the viral SNL spoof while the crowd immediately sang along. We simply love to see a full-circle moment!

The Domingo domination continued on screen this weekend as SNL brought back Marcello’s beloved character in a sequel sketch featuring host and musical guest Charli XCX. The group performed a rendition of Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” during Kelsey (played by Chloe Fineman)’s baby shower before Domingo crashed it.
